The hooded romper that gave me another set of body-numbing heart palpitations at first glance.

where the wild things are x opening ceremony

Opening Ceremony's Where The Wild Things Are collection, designed in collaboration with Spike Jonze, has me salivating over the prospect of rockin the fur during these very chilly days (faux fur, of course). These images are simply amazing, and since the film has opened in theaters today, it's just perfectly fitting to post these. I can't wait to see this film! For some reason the previews remind me of one of my all-time favorite childhood flicks - The Neverending Story.

Now time for me to scour some vintage racks for the perfect furry faux jacket.

amazing looks. and i can't stop eyeing those black lace-up mesh wedges!

thermals with a twist.

With the unbearably biting cold weather still looming in NYC (damn you snow!), I manage to keep myself warm and toasty in my favorite pair of thermal leggings by Opening Ceremony. Rummaging through my wardrobe the other night, I was so happy to rediscover them amongst my massive pile of winter weather stuff. I got them about 2 or 3 years ago, and was lucky enough to snag one of the very last ones before this baby was sold out for good. I first came across these thermals on Creatures of Comfort, but thankfully, found them in the OC store on sale for less than half the price. The best bit - the bum area! I know this is sort of weird but they somewhat remind me of these cool ruffle undies that I used to rock back in the 80s when I was little...and I think that's why I like them so much. Yes. I am strange.

i daydream of spring

Ode to Spring

After relishing these long winter months in my cozy, chunky knit sweaters and scarves, thick wool coats, heavy leather riding boots, and pairs upon pairs of toasty thermals, I think it's definitely due time to give these lovelies a nice extensive holiday, and revive my wardrobe with a refreshing "re-introduction" of organic and a bit oversized tanks and tees, light and airy cashmere cardis, loose denim cutoffs, strappy caged sandals of all shapes and hues, and of course, my much-loved vintage florals and little white eyelet boho dresses. With Springtime officially rearing its pretty little face in just a few short weeks (even though it's still friggin' snowing outside my window right as we speak..errr damn it), I think there's no harm in prepping that closet for the crisp, warm spring weather right about now. At the moment, I can't help but keep a keen eye on those suede cross wedges by Opening Ceremony and somewhat ubiquitous (but still hot, must-owns) distressed denim cutoffs by my favorite fashion genious Alexander Wang. Also, I cannot wait for the day when I can just throw on a loose tank, some cool boyfriend jeans, bangles and be out the door! And for that I'll be turning to my trusty American Apparel, H&M, and Forever21 for the basics. I'm already daydreaming about some warm-ish weather looks....like this little one I personally put together on the ever-so-addicting Polyvore. Ahhh let the countdown begin!
